The first step: Pick one of your favorite song that has already been in the iTunes Library and then hear and determine in which part of the song that you want to make it as a ringtone. Once you select the 30 seconds song file, drag & drop the file to a new folder or to your desktop. Once the file appears on the desktop / new folder, change the file extension from filename.m4a become filename.m4r. If the message box appears, select “Yes”. After the rename process is complete, delete the 30 seconds song file in your iTunes Library by pressing the Delete button on your keyboard.
If you can not change extensionnya, try to open “Tools” menu bar in your Windows Explorer, select “Folder Options”. Once you have entered into the “Folder Options”, scroll it down and uncheck the “Hide Extensions for Known File Types” box.
Third Step: Once the 30 seconds song file is removed, enter the m4r file into iTunes Library in the Ringtones panel by draging & dropping it on “Ringtones” panel. If you successfully copy the m4r file into ringtones panel, the last step you need to do is synchronize your iPhone with iTunes.
Done! Now you have your own music ringtone.
